Metrofuser Introduces HP Network Printer Communications Training Class

Roselle NJ - December 16th, 2012 -Laser printer parts manufacturer Metrofuser (www.metrofuser.com) announced the addition of a new class focusing on the communication issues and errors associated with Hewlett Packard LaserJet series printer models. This class is the latest addition to an ever-expanding curriculum of training for service professionals. More info

"Since 23% of all IT Help Desk Calls are printer or copier-related and the bulk of those are printer communication issues," said Will DeMuth, Metrofuser’s COO), "this class is essential for anyone in the business of supporting or repairing HP laser printers."

The class will cover a wide range of relevant material for field technicians including driver and firmware installation procedures, NVRAM resets, flash and memory installation, common error code resolutions and TCP/IP network configurations. Students will learn the theory of the systems interface and then work hands-on to configure and install printers and troubleshoot common issues.

“The class is structured in an open, student-friendly format,” said Metrofuser’s Eric Katz, “so that all students will feel comfortable and have their needs met. From entry-level or copier technicians looking to expand their knowledge to Help Desk or Call Center or government service professionals working with managed print services, everyone will come away with a better understanding of how laser printers work in a network environment.”

The goals of the class include:

Understanding the function of the system interface and its configuration.
Performing and understanding control panel operations, including service modes, test pages, firmware updates, and reset procedures.
Understanding and properly correcting error codes associated with the formatter system, TCP/IP
Configuration, driver installations, and firmware update procedures.

Metrofuser offers week-long training classes ten times a year at either one of its two facilities in Roselle, NJ or Santa Ana, CA. It plans to add the Network Printer Communications class to these training blocks, but will continue to offer custom training onsite or offsite to anyone who is interested. The next week of training in California is scheduled for January and another week of training will take place February in New Jersey.

Metrofuser Marks 10th Anniversary Of Company Founding

10 Year
Celebration
2003-2013

ROSELLE NJ, January 15th , 2013 -- January 2013 marks the beginning of the tenth calendar year that Metrofuser has provided quality service parts, whole unit printers and training to its customers in the office equipment industry.

In 2003, Metrofuser opened its doors as a remanufacturer and distributor of printer parts for Hewlett Packard laser printers. Over the years, the company has expanded its product portfolio to include Lexmark printer parts and it continues to offer increasingly more remanufactured, environmentally friendly alternatives for parts on the top monochrome, color and multifunction printers in the imaging supplies industry.

The company has evolved considerably over the past ten years, adapting quickly but thoughtfully to meet the needs of its customer base. The company opened up a California distribution facility in 2006 because, as Metrofuser’s CFO Eric Katz noted, “many of our customers are in the service business and cannot afford to wait two or three days for replacement parts to arrive.” Metrofuser has worked with regional and national carriers to expand its range of next-day ground coverage while keeping freight costs manageable.

In 2008, Metrofuser started to offer printer repair training classes. “It was an ideal way for us to support our current customers,” said Will DeMuth, Metrofuser’s Chief Operating Officer, “as well as expose our brand to new prospective customers. For growing service providers or copier dealers looking to increase their product base, our offering of weeklong repair and theory classes has been an essential tool in their expansion.”

Metrofuser also began remanufacturing HP laser printers and multi-function devices in 2010. It is a division of the company that has seen rapid expansion, especially as managed print services (MPS) has taken hold and dealers look to find the most cost-effective, reliable printers to deploy. Years of experience in developing proprietary products that solve the industry’s complex problems have positioned Metrofuser as an industry leader that adapts to meet the needs of its clientele and is first-to-market with product offerings and unique solutions.

Metrofuser has continued to grow year after year, despite an uncertain and often difficult economic climate. “The two most important forces in our rapid development,” said Demuth, “have been a superior team of professionals who care about keeping our customers happy and a maniacal obsession with improving and perfecting our quality. Many of our employees have been here for years, enabling us to create a core group of experienced technicians and managers whose dedication has allowed us to evolve and advance.”

“In the end,” said Katz, “we look at our relationship with the customer as a partnership. When we make great parts and printers, when we provide them with training and the tools for them to excel, that is when and how we are able to grow and develop as a company.”
He added, “We are proud of the company that we’ve built and even more grateful to our customers, partners and employees for the last ten years of service and support. We look forward to even better things in the future.”
